Overview

Responsible for the Inspection of product sent to Outside manufacturers and inspection of internal sheet metal fabrication by performing the following duties.

  • Verifies incoming products to ensure products are per purchase order, and/or work order and customer requirements.
  • Performs hardness and conductivity readings per customer requirements.
  • Reads engineering and understands drawing requirements and general configuration requirements.
  • Performs first part buy off and in process buy off for Sheet metal parts. Including inspection of deburred parts, formed parts, & flat pattern parts.
  • Ability to use Mylar’s, height gauge, pin gauge, micrometers, and other measuring devices.
  • Ensures work orders and purchase orders are filled out completely and that all quantities are correct.
  • Ensures all certifications are correct and legible.
  • Records deviations from specifications and drawing requirements on a Non-conformance report.
  • Responsible to be familiar with the use and navigation of Net Inspect to perform First Article Inspections.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Other Abilities:

  • Familiar with product and process’s
  • Detail oriented for documentation correctness
  • Familiar with the use and navigation of Net Inspect
  • Must understand quality as it relates to total customer service philosophy
  • Experienced in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, Database software, and Net-Inspect

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, and ability to see color.

 

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to a shop environment. The employee is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
