Overview

This position oversees all 737 Doors Operations within PMC Assembly, with full responsibility for daily execution, delivery performance, and quality outcomes.

The role manages an organization of approximately 85 employees, including:

  • 1 Area Supervisor
  • 7 Crew Chiefs
  • ~75 Assembly Mechanics and Sealers

The ideal candidate will bring proven assembly management experience in a high-volume, high-complexity manufacturing environment. Success in this role requires the ability to perform under pressure, make timely decisions, and maintain strong operational discipline while driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support all aspects of 737 Door Assembly Operations
  • Ensure teams consistently meet daily and weekly committed delivery targets
  • Drive quality improvements and corrective actions across the operation
  • Serve as the primary on-site customer interface, providing clear, accurate reporting on delivery status and quality performance
  • Communicate expectations effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Develop and position the team for sustained execution excellence

Required Qualifications

  • Prior assembly management experience in a manufacturing environment with complex deliverables
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large teams and layered leadership structures
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
  • Proven track record of meeting delivery and quality commitments

 

Responsibilities

REPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides work direction and supervision for Assemblers
  • Sets-up and run all of the various rivet squeezes in a quick and accurate fashion.
  • Should be able to locate all of the safety data needed on jobs that require sealers and various hazardous materials.
  • Checks to assure that all of the daily maintenance items are completed.    
  • Should be willing to take a certified sealers test and become more efficient at sealing.
  • Should have the understanding of the importance of logging of time into MRP and the handling of shop scrap.
  • Works to maintain high morale in all areas and high efficiency in all areas.
  • Create and maintain accurate shop notes.
  • Review each individual kit to insure that it is ready to advance in the flow.
  • Schedule and prioritize the flow of the shop orders.
  • Assure that the shop inventory, rivets and consumables, are in stock.
  • Ensure that adequate supplies are on hand and dates are current.
  • Responsible for AS9100.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Authority to stop any production order for quality or safety concerns.

Qualifications

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Must be able to read customer provided documents, proficient at setting-up all of the machines in his area.
  2. Must be able to work well with people and be capable of making decisions.
  3. High School Diploma or G.E.D

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While on the shop floor eye protection is required, and hearing protection may be necessary.
