Overview

Job Description

Provide work direction and supervision for shipping and receiving employees. In charge of maintaining the daily shipping log, marking of parts, and packaging of parts to be shipped out to the customer. This is a salary position.  This is a full-time position that will work a sufficient number of hours to complete all job duties.  Reports directly to the Director of Assembly(operations).

Responsibilities

Responsibilities 

  • Provides work direction and supervision for shipping, receiving and kitting.
  • Ensure all employees are cross-trained for each function within department.
  • Must be able to complete all job duties within the department and complete those activities when work load requires additional manpower, including but not limited to kitting, shipping, receiving, packaging parts, posting PO’s, transfer/P/L/counting journals, building crates, driving the forklift, unloading trucks.
  • Run daily reports for each function and utilize reports to determine when resources/priorities need shifted to ensure timely completion of departmental duties.
  • Track key metrics daily and report during daily line walk.
  • Update/approve hourly employee’s time sheets daily.
  • Ensure POD’s are scanned and saved daily.
  • Organize and Co-ordinate daily departmental duties.
  • Interface with other departments to ship parts, tooling and/or materials to vendors, customers and internal work areas.
  • Ensure equipment is functional and shipping supplies are replenished.
  • Continue communication between departments to maintain the status on parts.
  • Pull parts for stock checks.
  • Ensure Inventory cycle counts are completed and logs are printed and saved.
  • Remove parts from inventory when requested by inspection, and complete transfer journals.

Additional Responsibilities

  • All employees are responsible for the quality of their work and implementation of the Quality Policy.
  • Continually review processes, supply purchases for areas to improve work flow or provide cost/time savings.
  • Has authority to stop any production order for quality concerns or safety concerns.

Qualifications

Job Qualifications

  • Requires basic computer skills including Microsoft Office, and above average organizational and multi-tasking skills. 
  • MRP Experience
  • Prior team management/program management skills preferred in aircraft field.
  • Must be able to count parts in order to maintain an accurate inventory control.
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D, some college preferred
  • Experience in Export Control/USMCA Regulations and Compliance

Personal Protective Equipment

  • Safety glasses in designated areas.
  • Hearing protection in designated areas.
  • Closed toe and closed heeled shoes required in shop area at all times

Knowledge Requirements

  • Company Intranet

  • Experience utilizing 3rd party shipping companies
  • Knowledge of International Shipping

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to a shop environment. The employee is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock.

 

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately loud.
