About Brenner Aerostructures

Brenner Aerostructures, based in Bensalem, Pennsylvania, is one of the premier metal-bonding and aerostructures facilities in the aerospace industry.
A core business within The Atlas Group, Brenner provides vertically integrated manufacturing services—stretch forming, metal-to-metal bonding, chemical milling, phosphoric anodizing, and precision CNC machining—to major commercial and defense OEMs.
As part of The Atlas Group’s network, Brenner offers single-source ordering, streamlined program management, and a commitment to quality, reliability, and continuous improvement.

Job Description:

The Manager of Production Control & Master Scheduling leads the planning and coordination of all production and scheduling activities at Brenner Aerostructures.
This role ensures that production capacity, material flow, and resource allocation are aligned with customer requirements and divisional objectives.

The position is responsible for developing and maintaining the Master Production Schedule (MPS), managing Material Requirements Planning (MRP), and optimizing shop floor execution through disciplined production control practices.

As a key member of the Brenner Operations Leadership Team, this manager collaborates with Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, and Program Management to drive delivery performance, maintain AS9100 compliance, and support continuous improvement across all manufacturing areas — including stretch forming, bonding, machining, chemical processing, and assembly.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Production Planning and Scheduling

  • Develop and maintain the Master Production Schedule (MPS) based on customer demand, forecast, and available capacity.
  • Translate sales orders and long-term agreements into executable production plans.
  • Balance production loading across departments to meet delivery targets while optimizing resource utilization.
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain to ensure material availability and on-time procurement.
  • Monitor and adjust schedules as needed to respond to changes in customer demand or operational constraints.
  • Provide accurate delivery commitments to Program Management and Customer Service.

Production Control

  • Oversee the release, tracking, and closure of work orders throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Maintain visibility of Work-In-Process (WIP), ensuring jobs flow efficiently through forming, bonding, machining, and finishing operations.
  • Monitor MRP action messages, shortages, and WIP bottlenecks; drive corrective actions and schedule recovery plans.
  • Collaborate with Engineering on Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) to minimize production disruption.
  • Lead daily and weekly production meetings, providing data-driven updates on schedule adherence and delivery risks.

Capacity and Resource Management

  • Perform capacity analysis to evaluate current and future resource requirements.
  • Identify production constraints and coordinate with Operations leadership on staffing, overtime, or subcontracting solutions.
  • Support long-term capital and equipment planning based on forecasted demand.
  • Develop “what-if” capacity modeling to assess schedule impacts of new business or program changes.

Systems Management and Data Integrity

  • Ensure the integrity of MRP data, including lead times, routings, work centers, and BOM accuracy.
  • Drive disciplined use of ERP/MRP tools (Epicor or equivalent) for planning, scheduling, and reporting.
  • Partner with IT and Finance to improve system performance and reporting capabilities.
  • Maintain data governance practices to ensure accurate visibility of production status and inventory position.

Performance Management and Continuous Improvement

  • Track and report on key operational metrics (OTD, schedule adherence, WIP turns, forecast accuracy).
  • Implement Lean, 6S, and visual management tools to improve scheduling transparency and material flow.
  • Lead or participate in Kaizen and process improvement events focused on scheduling efficiency, communication, and accuracy.
  • Support corporate and divisional initiatives related to AS9100 compliance and internal audits.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of aerospace manufacturing, AS9100 requirements, and ERP/MRP systems.
  • Expertise in Master Production Scheduling (MPS), Production Control, and Capacity Planning.
  • Skilled in interpreting engineering drawings, routings, and BOM structures.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability; capable of data-driven decision-making.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel-based analytics, and ERP reporting tools.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Working knowledge of Lean and continuous improvement principles.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or Engineering (preferred).
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in aerospace or complex manufacturing, including at least 3 years in production control, master scheduling, or planning leadership.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP system administration and data management (Epicor, SAP, or equivalent).
  • APICS CPIM or CSCP certification strongly preferred.
  • Experience in a high-mix, low-volume aerospace manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Regular presence on the production floor; ability to walk and stand for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs. and use of PPE as required.

Flexibility to work extended hours or weekends to support delivery schedules

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Operational

  • On-Time Delivery (OTD) and schedule adherence.
  • Forecast accuracy and capacity utilization.
  • WIP turns and inventory management.
  • ERP/MRP data accuracy and timeliness.
