Overview

The Inventory Clerk is responsible for overseeing the receipt and dispatch of stock, ensuring accurate inventory placement both physically and within the inventory management system. This role requires effective communication with cross-functional departments to address product-related issues, coordinate stock location transfers, prioritize production needs, and execute cycle counts to uphold inventory accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Manages incoming and outgoing stock to maintain inventory both physically and systematically.
  • Conducts cycle counts periodically.
  • Understands the FIFO process.
  • Preps production orders for staging areas.
  • Works on kitting orders to carts to provide production for assembly line.
  • Documents accurate information for traceability.
  • Tracks and keeps accurate counts of items to perform cycle counts to maintain IRA (inventory record accuracy).
  • Reviews transactional history in inventory management system.
  • Identifies proper utilization and location of storage space during stock put away process.
  • Responds to inventory inquiries such as locating, showing and pulling items from stock.
  • Responsible for completing work default/obsolete reports as needed.
  • Responsible for kit to kit carts and bring to staging areas.
  • Monitors transfer logs for updates.
  • Responsible for repackaging/refilling inventory to correct bins (bulk stock).
  • Responsible for pickups at specific departments or areas (EOL/Receiving).
  • Supports Shipping and Receiving departments with packaging tasks and miscellaneous duties as needed.
  • Provides support in the Kitting Department by scanning kits to assist during critical periods tied to monthly revenue goals.

Knowledge, Skills and Other Abilities

  • Comfort and experience interfacing with various levels of staff and management while working in a fast-paced environment
  • Must demonstrate a sense of urgency and dedication to supporting customer requirements
  • Ability to adapt quickly to shifting priorities in support of production and shipping deadlines
  • Familiarity with inventory scanning tools and systems used in kitting and packaging processes
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in packaging, labeling, and kit scanning
  • Willingness to support cross-functional teams during high-demand periods

 

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required; or related field is a plus.
  • 2–4 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or a related production environment.
  • Hands-on experience with MRP or ERP systems.
  • Background in aviation or aerospace manufacturing is highly desirable.
  • Forklift certification and experience operating material handling equipment preferred.

Physical Requirements

This role involves moderate physical activity in a warehouse or production environment. Candidates should be able to:

  • Occasionally stand, walk, climb stairs, and maintain balance.
  • Reach with hands and arms, and perform movements such as stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
  • Lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds as needed.
