Overview

The Chemical Milling Production Technician is responsible for preparing various metal parts for the chemical milling process in accordance with engineering specifications and quality standards. This includes optimizing rack configurations, handling chemical processes safely, and ensuring all production steps are completed with precision and attention to detail. This role requires multitasking in a fast-paced environment while maintaining consistent communication with team members and supervisors. A Chem Mill Operator will be held accountable for the following job responsibilities:

Responsibilities

  • Execute tasks aligned with the production schedule provided by the Work center Lead and Production Manager
  • Follow all standard operating procedures and quality requirements as set by Engineering and Quality departments
  • Support production setups and cleanups as directed
  • Participate in overtime and Saturday shifts when necessary to meet production demands
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance tasks to ensure equipment reliability
  • Accurately complete all required paperwork and digital production records
  • Prepare and rack parts for chemical milling according to job specifications
  • Inspect parts before and after chemical processes to verify quality standards are met
  • Handle and dispose of chemicals in accordance with safety regulations and company policies
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safety and efficiency
  • Communication issues, delays, or equipment concerns to supervisors in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot problems and improve processes
  • Monitor chemical levels and notify appropriate personnel when replenishment is needed
  • Use basic measuring tools (e.g., calipers, tape measures) to verify part dimensions
  • Follow all safety protocols, including the use of PPE and proper handling of hazardous materials
  • Assist in training new team members when required
  • Complete other tasks within department and company lending departments assistance to keep production running.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment
  • Prior experience working with chemicals in a production setting is highly preferred
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent time management, and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and stay focused in a fast-paced environment
  • Capable of lifting to 50 pounds without assistance
  • Able to remain on your feet for extended periods throughout the shift
  • Reliable transportation and consistent attendance are essential
