The Manufacturing Fabrication Operator is responsible for operating machinery and tools used in the fabrication of components and assemblies as part of the manufacturing process. This role includes reading and interpreting technical drawings, monitoring equipment, ensuring product quality, and maintaining safety and productivity standards in a production environment.
. Duties and Responsibilities: Operate various fabrication equipment such as CNC machines, presses, saws, brakes, shears, rollers, or laser cutters to manufacture parts and assemblies. Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and production schedules to determine material requirements and fabrication sequences. Perform machine setup, calibration, and basic troubleshooting. Inspect finished products for accuracy, dimensions, and quality using gauges, calipers, or other measuring tools. Maintain accurate production records, including material usage and completed work. Follow safety protocols and standard operating procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Assist in the identification of process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste. Clean and maintain equipment to ensure proper operation and longevity. |
Knowledge, Skills and Other Abilities:
Ability to read technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
Proficient with measuring instruments (tape measure, calipers, micrometers, etc.).
Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of fabrication processes.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
Comfortable working in a loud, fast-paced production environment.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with production tracking systems
Preferred Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold (non-weather), and extreme heat (non-weather). The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather).
