Overview

Job Description: As a Manufacturing Transition Manager, you will be tasked with overseeing the process of moving work, including parts, machines, or entire departments, from one location or team to another within a manufacturing environment.   This may involve transfers from one Atlas business/location to another, from Atlas to external supply chain, from external supply chain back into Atlas or from one external supplier to another.  You will work closely with various departments to ensure that all transitions are executed smoothly according to schedule and budget, with minimal disruption to business operations. Your primary goal will be to manage the transition process end-to-end, from planning, coordinating, through execution of transfer.  This role reports to the Director of Master Scheduling.

Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive transfer plans, outlining timelines, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate activities across multiple teams, departments, and potentially different locations.
  • Identify potential risks and develop contingency plans to address them.
  • Manage transition timelines (utilizing project/horse blanket/line of balance),  budgets, and resources.
  • Facilitate regular meetings to address concerns and provide updates.
  • Monitor transfer processes to ensure quality and efficiency.
  • Communicate transition status and updates to stakeholders.
  • Spotting any transition-related issues and creating effective solutions to resolve them swiftly.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.
  • Facilitate the transfer of knowledge, expertise, and best practices from the current team to the receiving team.
  • Conduct post-transfer reviews to assess effectiveness and identify lessons learned.
  • Analyzing any internal requests for changes and consulting with management to deny or approve the proposed changes.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience in project or transition management.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex transitions in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Additional Requirements

  • Travel may be required up to 25%.
