The Estimator is responsible for analyzing requests for quotes (RFQs), engineering drawings, bill of materials, routings, and technical specifications to develop accurate, competitive cost estimates for aerospace manufacturing projects.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Review engineering drawings, specifications, BOMs, and manufacturing routes to determine material, labor, tooling, equipment, and processing needs.
Break down project costs into materials, labor, subcontracted services, overhead, and contingency factors. Develop estimates using tools like Excel, ERP systems and specialized cost-estimating software.
Collaborate with supply chain to obtain vendor quotes for materials and outside processes.
Build and update internal cost databases and historical archives to improve precision and support continuous improvement.
Work across departments, including engineering, purchasing and manufacturing, to clarify requirements, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Populate ERP systems with RFQ data, prepare bid packages, develop strategic pricing, and support presentation of estimate metrics during management review.

Preferred Education/Experience:
College or High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Previous experience in production environment required or ERP system experience required
Aviation background preferred
Pricing TINA compliant proposals
Fluent in Excel with prior estimating experience
Proposal or program management experience
