Overview

Reporting directly to the VP/General Manager the Operations Manager will be responsible for providing overall direction and guidance to the operational activities of the Assembly, Inventory, Kitting and Shipping departments with the objective of maximizing growth and profitability as well as day-to-day leadership and management to all company operations functions.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Follow all established quality management system procedures and work instructions as applicable.
  2. Serve as a key member of the executive team that sets the company’s strategic direction.
  3. Supervise Leads and Supervisors as assigned.  Responsible for overall management to achieve customer satisfaction. Must interpret policies, purposes, and goals of the organization for subordinates. Responsible for subordinate employees’ performance reviews
  4. Manage organization operations by directing and coordinating activities consistent with established goals, objectives, and policies.
  5. Implement programs to ensure attainment of business plan for growth and profit.
  6. Implements improved processes and management methods to generate higher ROI and workflow optimization.
  7. Develop and create strategies and policies aligned with organizational goals.
  8. Provide mentoring and guidance to subordinates and other employees.

Qualifications

Knowledge & Skills:

  1. Deep knowledge of the industry.
  2. Strong strategy and financial skills, strong P&L background.
  3. Strong analytical skills.
  4. Knowledge of program management, lean manufacturing process improvement.
  5. Partnership development (including negotiation) capabilities.
  6. Self-motivated with ability to work in an unstructured environment (strong operational mindset, decisive, with a "get it done" and “whatever it takes” mentality).
  7. Strong interpersonal skills; ability to influence others without formal authority, teambuilding, mentoring.
  8. Strong manufacturing leadership background.
  9. Ability to attain quantifiable results.
  10. Excellent written and oral communications skills.

 

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree, Business Administration or Marketing required, MBA preferred, and/or 10 to 15 years of progressive operational and managerial experience.  Experience in the Aerospace manufacturing industry highly preferred.

 

Physical Requirements:

Stooping, crouching, reaching, walking, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, repetitive motion. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must have close visual acuity. May be subject to atmospheric conditions such as fumes, odors, dust.
