Overview

Primary responsibility of the Mechanical Assembler is to assemble and/or fabricate mechanical parts per blueprints or work instructions prior to shipping. Assembler works to priorities set by the Department Lead and follows processes developed by Engineering.

Responsibilities

  1. Follow all established quality management system procedures and work instructions as applicable
  2. Knowledge of Protect the Product (PTP) Operating Procedures
    • Handling
    • Cleaning
    • Storage
  3. Use and understanding of Work Instructions (Electronic or written)
  4. Installation of and basic understanding of clinch style hardware meeting a min of 80% of Time Standards and with less than 10% of rework of all assemblies
  5. Use of basic clinch installation tools and techniques
  6. Use of hand installation tools and techniques
  7. Basic skills in the application of adhesives
  8. The application of filler compounds
  9. Sanding and material preparation
  10. Follow manufacturing planning steps
  11. Willing and able to work overtime as needed including Saturdays
  12. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Specialized Training:

Six months vocational training.

 

Physical Requirements:

Stooping, crouching, reaching, walking, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, repetitive motion. Must be able to lift 35 lbs. Must have close visual acuity. May be subject to atmospheric conditions such as fumes, odors, dust.
