Overview

Summary: The Supply Chain Director oversees and manages the end-to-end supply chain processes for the organization. The Supply Chain Director is responsible for optimizing supply chain operations, improving efficiency, and ensuring the seamless flow of goods from suppliers to customers. This role involves working closely with procurement, logistics, warehousing, and production teams to ensure that products are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities

Operational Leadership:

Develop and implement and implement supply chain strategies aligned with company objectives

Forecast demand, plan inventory levels, and coordinate procurement strategies

Identify and address supply chain challenges or inefficiencies.

Negotiate with suppliers for the best pricing, terms, and quality standards.

Maintain strong relationships with key vendors and suppliers.

Oversee supplier performance and ensure compliance with contracts.

Analyze supply chain data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.

Prepare and present regular supply chain performance reports to senior management.

Use data-driven insights to improve decision-making processes and enhance operational efficiency.

Consistently acts in accordance with business professionalism principles including during business hours, at company events, meetings, off-site meetings, audits, etc.

Consistently provides professional business communications to internal and external customers, staff, peers and company leadership employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems

 

Team Development and Leadership:

Guide, coach and mentor direct reports ensuring those in supervisor/manager/lead roles provide proper support and guidance to their direct reports.

Ensure direct reports in supervisor/manager/lead roles are carrying out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws with the guidance of HR; including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems

Foster a culture of collaboration and team work to staff at all levels

Provide clear communication and direction to staff at all levels

 

Compliance and Risk Management:

Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, including safety, transportation, and environmental standards. Develop risk management strategies to address supply chain disruptions or delays.

Monitor market trends and adjust supply chain strategies accordingly.

 

Continuous Improvement:

 

Lead change management initiative to adapt to evolving industry standards

Identify opportunities to enhance efficiencies

Ensure all employees wear appropriate PPE in designated areas as required

 

 

 

 

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Other Abilities:

Team oriented with strong leadership and coaching skills

Detail oriented with meticulous work habits and strong project management skills

Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.

In-depth knowledge of supply chain processes, including procurement, logistics, and inventory management.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.

Proficient in supply chain software and tools.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. 

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

 

 

Preferred Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or related field (Master's degree preferred).

Minimum 5 years of experience in supply chain management or a related field.

Proven experience in managing procurement, logistics, and inventory control.

Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage cross-functional teams.

Previous experience in production environment leadership role required.

MRP or ERP system experience preferred.

Aviation background preferred.
